Community Health is a composite score — a single number that summarizes the overall state of your community by combining multiple signals into one easy-to-read indicator. Instead of checking six different metrics every day, you get one score that tells you at a glance whether things are heading in the right direction.Documentation Index

How the score is calculated
The Community Health score is based on a weighted combination of:| Signal | Weight |
|---|---|
| Member retention | High |
| Engagement rate | High |
| Message activity trend | Medium |
| Join/leave ratio | Medium |
| Channel diversity (activity spread across channels) | Low |
Score ranges
| Score | What it means |
|---|---|
| 80 – 100 | Excellent — your community is thriving |
| 60 – 79 | Good — solid fundamentals with room to improve |
| 40 – 59 | Fair — some areas need attention |
| Below 40 | Needs work — take action soon |
What affects the score most
The two biggest drivers are retention and engagement rate. If your score is low, start there:- Low retention → improve onboarding, run more events, build consistency
- Low engagement → more interactive content, giveaways, polls, games
Using the score over time
A single score on a single day is less useful than watching the trend. Track your Health score week over week:- Consistently rising → your efforts are working
- Flat for weeks → you’ve plateaued — time to try something new
- Dropping → something changed — check the Activity feed for clues
The Community Health score is a guide, not a verdict. A score of 55 in a niche, highly specialized community might actually represent very healthy engagement for that audience. Use it directionally, not as an absolute measure.
