Having a lot of members means nothing if they’re not participating. The Engagement page measures how active your community actually is — how many members are sending messages, reacting, joining voice channels, and generally showing up.Documentation Index

Key metrics
| Metric | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Active members | Members who sent at least one message in the selected period |
| Messages sent | Total message volume across all tracked channels |
| Engagement rate | Percentage of total members who were active |
| Avg. messages per active member | Depth of engagement, not just breadth |
| Peak activity hours | When your community is most alive during the day |
Engagement rate explained
Engagement rate = active members ÷ total members. A community with 1,000 members and 300 active ones has a 30% engagement rate. For Discord communities, anything above 20% is solid. Above 40% is exceptional. A low engagement rate doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong — it often just means your audience is more passive (lurkers). But if it’s trending down consistently, that’s worth paying attention to.Peak activity hours
The chart showing when your members are most active is one of the most useful pieces of data in the platform. Use it to:- Schedule giveaway announcements when the most people are online
- Time your polls and important messages for peak hours
- Plan live events and voice sessions when attendance will be highest
