A Referral Program lets you run a structured invite campaign with a clear goal and a defined reward. Instead of hoping members invite their friends, you give them a specific target and something worth working toward.

How it works

You set a goal (for example, 100 new invites), define a reward for reaching it, and set a deadline. The platform tracks progress in real time and shows a progress bar so everyone can see how close the community is to the goal.

Creating a program

  1. Go to Growth → Referral Program
  2. Click Create Program
  3. Fill in:
    • Program name — something memorable (e.g. “Summer Invite Drive”)
    • Description — explain what it’s about and why members should participate
    • Invite goal — how many invites are needed to unlock the reward
    • Reward — what members get when the goal is reached (e.g. “VIP role for the top 3 inviters”)
    • End date (optional) — create urgency by setting a deadline
  4. Click Create — the program is live immediately

Tracking progress

The program page shows:
  • Current invite count vs. the goal
  • A progress bar that fills as invites come in
  • The top inviters ranked by contribution

Tips

  • Make the reward worth the effort. Vague rewards (“something special”) don’t motivate. Specific rewards (“the top inviter gets a custom role + shoutout every week”) do.
  • Announce the program in multiple channels when you launch it.
  • Post progress updates regularly — seeing the bar at 80% motivates people to push it over the line.
  • You can run one program at a time. When one ends, start a new one with a fresh goal.
Only invites tracked through Apetopia’s Invite Tracking system count toward the goal. Make sure Invite Tracking is set up before launching a Referral Program.
