Holder Counters create read-only voice channels in your Discord server that show how many members hold a specific verified role. The count is pulled directly from Apetopia’s verification data — no Discord API hacks, no privileged intents.

How it works

Each holder counter is tied to one of your verification roles (configured in Member Verification). When the counter updates, Apetopia looks at the latest holder snapshot for the collections tied to that role, counts the wallets that meet the holding requirements, and updates the channel name automatically. This means the count reflects verified holders — members who actually hold the required NFTs, not just anyone who was manually assigned the role.

Adding a counter

  1. Go to Market & Alerts → Holder Counters
  2. Click Add holder counter
  3. Select the verification role you want to display
  4. Customize the channel name template using the {count} placeholder
  5. Click Create channel — the bot creates the voice channel immediately with the current count
You can add up to 10 counters per server on the Pro plan, one per verification role.

Channel name templates

Use {count} anywhere in the template:
🦍 AAS Holders: {count}
👑 Gold Members: {count}
🛡️ Verified: {count}

Managing counters

Each counter card shows:
  • The role name and channel name template
  • A green checkmark when the Discord channel is active
  • Pause / Resume — pauses updates to the channel without deleting it. Useful during maintenance or between seasons.
  • Delete — removes the channel from Discord and deletes the counter

Update frequency

Counters refresh every 10 minutes. If a channel is deleted directly in Discord, Apetopia detects the 404 on the next cycle and removes the stale entry automatically.

Troubleshooting

The count seems lower than expected Holder Counters only count wallets that have been verified through Apetopia and meet the role’s holding requirements based on the latest snapshot. Members who hold the NFT but haven’t verified through Apetopia won’t be counted. The role I want isn’t in the dropdown Each role can only have one counter. If a role doesn’t appear, it either already has a counter or hasn’t been configured in Member Verification yet.
